The tourist industry in the Marche has changed since the beginning of '90. What was just - as we used to call it - "beach and dancing hall" from '60 to '90 during summer time, became cultural trips towards basilicas, monasterys, museums, galleries, theatres as well as naturalistic oasis like the Frasassi caves (biggest in Europe), the Pilato lake and Sibillini mountains with their procteted areas or parks for peculiar wildlife and flora elements conservation. But turism is also amusement. Golf courses, snorkelling areas, runs side by side with fine sand beaches for children, and bikeing and rideing goes parallely with sailflying, hang gliding, paragliding, but all of those without neglect countless turistic ports with their sailing school. Last but not list, in the upper Macerata province area, there is no lack of skiing possibility. It's important to stress that this new type of resident tourism grew in a balanced way and in constant integration with the local population.
