The town where the house is located is best known as a base for excursions to the highly popular Frasassi Caves, which lie within its territory. The celebrated Frasassi caves are one of the most complex, best-known karst systems in Italy: an intriguing underground world of lakes enclosed by crystal arabesques, stalactites suspended like daggers, pillars towering up toward majestic vaulted caverns and beautiful transparent alabaster formation. It takes about 40 minutes drive to get to the sea and about 35 minutes to the nearest airport.
