The farm house was built approximately 200 years ago in typical Tuscan style with a tobacco tower and was refurbished with due consideration in the course of recent years (since 1982). The entire roof and gutter were replaced and the walls of the house and tower were skillfully refurbished. A building permit has been obtained to refurbish the tobacco tower to provide further living space. Further separate accommodation or additional living area can be obtained by refurbishing the sheds located on the left and right-hand side of the entrance door. An old pizza oven is located at the North side of the house. Water is provided from an enclosed source and a private cistern which can hold 4 cubic meters of water. This region is rich in natural water resources. Warm water and heating are provided by a gas-fired system which is connected to a 3,000 liter liquid gas tank. The living room and all bedrooms are equipped with radiators. It is possible to extend the present central heating system to the tobacco tower and both of the sheds. In addition or as an alternative to the central heating system, the living room can be heated via a skanoven. There is also a fireplace which can be used to create a romantic atmosphere.
Electricity is provided by the local electricity provider. The wooden-frame windows have double glazing. The windows of the refurbished rooms are fitted with fly-screens and beautiful, old wooden shutters. The magificent double-winged entrance door is fitted with a second lattice door and a fly screen. The house is equipped with a TV-socket, satellite dish and a telephone line. From the pergola-covered South-facing terrace, you have fantastic views across the valley to the surrounding hillsides. The Northern terrace provides shelters you from the strong midday sunshine and from here you can enjoy the sunset. The plot of land measures about 1 hectare and boasts cypress and juniper trees, fig and olive trees as well as numerous flowers, which bring across the uncomparable Tuscan way of life. The village were this property is located has all shopping facilities to cater for your daily needs like a supermarket, bakery, butcher, hair dresser, café, bar, banks, chemist, garage, and a petrol station. The house is located less than 2 miles away from the village and is accessible via a road which is partly tarred. More than half of this road is a strada bianca - a gravel road. This is the place where you can leave behind the hectic city. In these superb natural surroundings you find unparalleled tranquility of mind and you are very close to Tuscan nature.
